Former Facebook executive Sam Lessin launched a hackathon on Thursday morning for developers, engineers, and other people working in the field of technology to come up with possible ways to alleviate the global coronavirus crisis. Nearly 10,000 people have signed up, including prominent tech firms such as AWS, Facebook, and Microsoft. Lessin encourages technologists to focus on 6 key themes: health, vulnerable populations, businesses, community, education, and entertainment. Project must be submitted by 3/30/20, which includes a 2 minute video about the innovation, and highlighted projects will be announced on 4/3/20.
