Use your non-dominant hand

When touching objects, such as faucets, and doorknobs, try to use your non-dominant hand, as you are more likely to touch your face with your dominant hand. To minimize the spread of pathogens, minimize touching your face and sanitize hands often.

Stay home

One of the best ways to prevent the spread of coronavirus is to practice social distancing, or remaining at least 6 ft away from others. Especially if you are feeling sick, staying home and self-isolating will help keep others safe. Although many areas have not enforced shelter-in-place or lockdown orders, staying home and minimizing contact will greatly reduce transmission.

Don't use hand sanitizer before cooking

While using hand sanitizer is a good alternative to washing your hands with soap and water if they are not available, the alcohol from the sanitizer can contaminate food, especially when working with foods that have moisture. Before cooking, make sure to wash hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with warm water and soap.
