VIRTUAL TRIPS

Google Arts and Culture makes it possible to visit the world's greatest museums, including the Uffizi Gallery, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Musée d’Orsay, right from the comfort of home. For the more adventurous spirit, explore some of the US's most unique and fascinating national parks in an immersive experience.

Access Mars, a VR experiment made possible through a partnership of Google with NASA'S JPL lab, allows viewers to explore the surface of Mars using pictures taken from the Curiosity Rover. This 360-degree experience combines animations with satellite photos, allowing visitors to traverse the surface of the Red Planet.

DRAWING

Mo Willems - author, voice actor, and children's book creator - hosts a drawing class for children on weekdays at 1PM ET. New episodes of Lunch Doodles with Mo will be available to stream online.

ZOOS

The Cincinnati Zoo hosts a Home Safari on Facebook Live every day at 3PM ET, where they highlight a specific animal and provide an activity to do at home. If you don't have a social media account or are not able to view the event live, all videos will be posted to the website and Youtube channel of the Cincinnati Zoo.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has 10 live webcams, showcasing the antics of many marine animals, ranging from sea otters to penguins. Explore their website to learn more about animals and their habitats, as well as follow a guided meditation with the serene backdrop of gliding jellyfish.

NOVA Labs offers an interactive experience for visitors to their website, allowing them to play games, watch videos, and learn more about topics ranging from cybersecurity to the environment.

NASA's Teachable Moments brings NASA to the classroom, engaging students in STEM activities relating to NASA missions. With activities based on math and science, NASA teaches students how to solve real problems of the future.

Skype a Scientist provides families with the opportunity to chat with a scientist in real time. Simply fill out a form, and a scientist will contact you over email to decide the details of the chat. This interactive activity is great for children, due to its interactive, rather than lecture-based, setup.

BrainPOP and National Geographic Kids offer a wide variety of STEM topics for kids to explore. With informative videos, fun quizzes, and interactive activities and games, your child will never get bored!

Legends of Learning offers over 2000 curriculum-aligned free math and science games, beloved by students, parents, and teachers. Engaging and instructing 1st-8th grade students at home, Legends of Learning allows students to progress through curriculum while having a blast.

PhET interactive simulations offers free science and math simulations for teaching complex STEM topics, including physics, chemistry, biology, and math. Perfect for students ranging from elementary school to college, this resource from the University of Colorado Boulder allows students to truly visualize and internalize science concepts. 

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

Story Time from Space is a fun activity where astronauts read short stories from the ISS. These pre-recorded videos have a split screen, showing the text from the book, along with footage of an astronaut gliding through space.
